Some people don't know anything about climate change. People know more about climate changes because they're seeing the alarming consequences in our world. Like the ice in Pastoruri has melted and the weather has also changed very fast.
- Young people know more than old people because they realize what's happening nowadays.
- Many ecosystems have been destroyed due to the increase of temperature.
- Tourism in many countries, specially in countries near the coast are decreasing because of the global warming.
- Besides, tourism is decreasing because of the contamination in the world.
1) People is aware of global warming because of climate change. They also answered that it is a very common problem nowadays and that the consequences are visible. It is causing damages around the world and the responsible ones are us, the humans. That is why we need to do something to stop it.
2) In our country, the consequences are many. Peru is known for its biodiversity and because of climate change, we are about to lose all of it. A perfect example of it is Pastoturi, this glacier is melting day by day and now its a dangerous place. This also affects our economy because tourism is not possible in that zone. Our rainforests will be affected too, we will lose many plants and animal species. Another consequence that involves economy is the agriculture. People will not be able to work because they will lose their crops due to floods and other natural disasters. In conclusion, our ecosystems will eventually die.
b) We conclude that opinions about climate change can be different due to several factors as age, culture, education, social-economic position, etc. However, all of them agree that what is happeing in our world is because of us and it is in our hands to do something about it.
a). Greenhouse effect, ice melting, extinction of species, changing climate, forest burns.
b). International reunions, use products in their totality, decrease de production of CO2 y CH4. Control of burns, they support investigations such using houses with solar energy, share energy.
c). There is not so much interest or priority of these reports, I think only twice a month in important newspapers. All the information we are given to you was found in one special section of climate change.
d). The headline that caught more my attention was GLOBAL EFFECT, because it said in a graphic all we know about climate change.
e). Climate Victims.
Unfortunately, neither in our country or our city , we have marches that promote the environmental conscience as in other countries
Principally the adults are those who worry less, while young people are awareness. we are the ones who foment between the others the environmental thought
For example, many of our dumps with garbage are replete and therefore the garbage leaves and falls to the path.
We do not also have the custom of recycling, something that should be obligatory, nevertheless we do not do it.
Sometime people use their imagination to produce lamps or bags with recycled material and sell them
It bothers, it makes us feel worried and dissapointed, because young people like us contribute to keep the streets clean.
But everything is for a reason and we believe that one day people will change and improve our world.
Firstly I would make people understand that if we don`t take care about our world, no one else would do it. The firs step goberments of every country must do is to create new laws or to become more strict about making people to respect the environment. Also we have to teach our children that this is our only home and if we continue polluting the world like our ancestors did it, on a rean future our sons or our grandchildren would inherit a contaminated land without animals, plants and of course without this beautifull landscapes like, for example here in Peru, the Pastoruri glaciar, Yanganuco Lagoon (picture).
Another opinion:
The climate change should be the most important aspect of our life. Unfortunately, it is not for everyone. Only a few people in Peru are truly interested in solving problem of the climate change.
Some people are promoting the environmental awareness, and that’s what we want to do.
Now it is your turn to compile the questions 5 until 8. Carefully consider the best way of posing the questions in order to gain the best possible insight into the everyday views of your partner class.
The young and old society try to help the environment but also find their confortable, for exsmple here in Peru, the wood is a bit expensive. So sometime people don’t care and buy illegal services of logging, but they know it’s wrong.
But now a days, teenagers and also adults are contribute to be against the logging. Right now they know how is our environment so they think that the best way to do something good is helping to be against the logging.
Yes, here in Peru on highlands we had this problem, mostly because this economic activity is one of the most importants in those areas. But this problem unfortunately is because people who raised the cattle didn`t have the environmental education to understand that if they overgraze this land not only the flora would be extinct, but the lands won`t be able to be used for sowing.
Another opinion:
There are some place sin Lima or around Lima where people live in small areas. These places are called “Quintas”. The Quintas are like small houses or flats, but the difference it’s the amount of people living in each place. There are almost 14 up to 16 people in a place of 10mt x 10mt. We know this problem is really worrying.
In the rural zones, the problems of overgrazing are in the seeds. They produce too much products, which causes the erosion because they are abusing of the territories.

Yes, of course. Here in Peru are a lot of cars and buses in bad conditions. For that reason, these produce smoke that contains CO2 and that pollute the environment.
In addition, here are many factories which expulse lots of contaminated gases. For example, here in Callao, near our school, a new factory everyday expulse a big amount of black hum, and the authorities’ don´t do anything to avoid that environment crime.
Also, other way in which our country experiences air pollution is when consciousness people burn garbage. This is worst when in the garbage are plastic and battens.
a) There are many things we'll change, first we would increase the education about our environment because, like we know, in that time people wasn't warned about contamination and climate changed, like we do now, they didn't even know about this type of problems, so caring about our environment in that time, could stop what we see now. For example, creating colleges that focus on this type of problems could be a way.
Other thing we would do is promote social conscience about what could happen if we don't take this seriously.
Finally we would recycle and reuse plastic, paper and glass since those days, so the natural resources wouldn't be waste.
b) We can learn from the past many things like:
• Have an environmentally conscious: - Recycling - Preserving our natural resources
• Teach respect our planet: - Do not throw garbage into the streets - Taking care of our flora and fauna
• Not to keep silent when there are environmental violations: - Protest (if necessary against the abuses of companies)
• To be part of change: - Joining to environmental groups to do direct action
a)Our ideal place would be somewhere where people would open their minds to listen necessary ideas about EVERYTHING. Not only environment stuff, but the good ideas, the ones that are worth listening to.
Also, a place where people and nature can be involved in a healthy way, with ecological sense.
It would be important to have a balance between economy, nature and technology.
We would want:
-Ecological groups
-Healthy nature
-Healthy biotechnology
b)We think we can choose our futre like we want or prefer but we're limited by things society does or prohibites. We can't choose a future without contamination because we're not the only ones that have to do something to change it, but we can try to create environmental awareness among others.
In conclusion, we can choose our future in the way society lets us do it.
To end this: "Time can change us, but we can't change time"
Use what's left to make things right again!
Carlos answer:
a). I enjoy watching TV series (such us dr. house, glee, the big bang theory), talking about problems of humanity (climate change, politic changes, social contradictions), contribute with my society to make the place better. I enjoy singing, too, but i'm not so good doing it.
b). I do it in my free time, i cannot do it all the time because, i have responsibilities like school work.
Now it’s your turn to compile the questions 12 until 16. Carefully consider the best way of posing questions in order to gain the best possible insight into the everyday views and lifestyle of society around you, and what is changing.
In Peru mining pollution is a continuing problem. An example on this issue is the DOE-RUN mining company, which has contaminated the entire city of La Oroya, the third most polluted city in the world. Closest experience mercury contamination in Callao. As Callao is the main port of Peru, reaching provisions of mercury. The problem is that the transportation of this chemical is not safe either for workers or for the general public. The municipality does nothing due to bribes from various companies. The only supports we receive from the state are reprimands to these companies, nothing more. Prefer foreign investment in any way; do not put environmental parameters, or social, just revenue to the state.

Yes, one example is "Pastoruri" (picture). as we can see, the glacier have lost lots of snow during the same year.
People talk about it, but only some group, usually private school students, university students and people who specializes in climate factors.
Carlos answer:
I'm not sure. Once i saw some snow in a mountain, but i didn't consider it a glacier, because there wasn't too much ice.
Carlos answer:
I haven't touched it, yet. I have dream of it, but I've never have the opportunity to do it.
A)One of the closest places in La Punta, a very small area of about 2.5 km. which is really pretty and secure. Its name means “peninsula”, because it’s actually a peninsula geographically. Through its size isn’t so attractive, the beautiful sunsets can make you fall in love. There’s a pretty park with a wide view to the sea, and you can spend some time there enjoying the nature.
B)We want to talk about Mr. Antonio Brack Egg. He’s our actual (and 1st by the way) Minister of the Environment. His work within the last months has been remarkable. He’s also published oven 15 books and articles about environment issues which have helped many people (including ourselves) in learning about the REAL problem. Apart from all this, it’s his spirit and the goals he has what brings to our minds how important his presence as Minister of Environment is.
a) I have had the opportunity to experience this two times in my life and both happened in school trips. The first one was when I travelled to Chanchamayo but the one that created a bigger impact in me was the one I experienced this year, in Huaraz. This province is located in the mountain chain in our country. I didn’t have idea of the reality of that place until I saw it with my own eyes. It made me feel sad to see so much poverty.
However, before going there we collected books, games, clothes and other things to donate because our first goal was to give them a helping hand. When the children received the donation, they were so happy and it made us happy too. Helping others is a really great experience and everyone should do it because at the end, it makes you feel like you are doing something good for yourself as well when you receive smiles as a reward.
b) This phrase means that the environment and we need to be in balance. If we want to live in the best way possible, it is essential to have all our needs fulfill. It means that the protection of the place we live will lead us to have a better quality of life. Solidarity and climate protection have a lot in common because both of them have as a task to improve people life’s conditions by giving them not only material things but also hope and health.
Once again, it’s your turn to present the questions 19 until 23: Compile 5 additional questions, suitable for people in your partner class to use, for example, in an interview with people on the street or people they know. Questions you really want to learn more about in order to get a good overall picture of the situation in your partner class.
No, we haven't. Because, our climate, it's not freezing. We have only few precipitations in a year, they're almost always, to little, to even consider it rain.
The most important vegetable, is potato, because we are one of the countries with more variety of potatoes, and we commercialize a lot of this products, internationally, so we supplie the world with this common vegetable.
