We cannot really name a person we would really call a climate hero yet. But there are definitely some people who cares about our climate and do a lot of promotions to protect it. We would say persons like Al Gore are good examples in our presence. They try to get the attention of the people and to show the consequences in the future that would happen if we didn't care about our climate. Yet, we don't know privately a person who is a climate hero.

There are different kinds of heroes. Everyone can be a hero in his own special way. A hero should be a strong character, and have the power to help, inspire, support or save people in their live. Magic Johnson is right when he is saying, that a hero should be a leader, this helps him in fulfilling his task.

a) A climate hero doesn't have to make a big project to be a hero, even the small things like taking an energy saving lamp instead of a normal lamp, separating the garbage or using the bus instead of a car can be useful for our climate. Many little things together may stop the climate change like:

- To go to the supermarket with old bags and not always use new ones from the market

- Recycling

- Careful heating

- etc.

There is not one important thing a climate hero has to do, but also many little things. Like this everyone can be a hero.

b) climate helper

climate savior or saver

climate change stopper

climate change fighter

the most important thing is that everybody makes a change, that everybody wants to save our planet. everybody needs to realize how important that is, but they should protect the planet because they want to and not because they must.

we also think that the little things are very important, the things that everybody can do to save the climate for example: using energy saving lamp or try to use a car as rarely as possible. or to power down all electric things before you go to bed or leave the house.

these are all examples that we (the writer of this text) do. what do you do?

the girl did a great job by giving this speech and maybe she made people realize how important it is to protect the planet and maybe these people changed after but everyone should realize it by himself and decide for himself to do something.

what do you think about this opinion?

Now it is your turn to compile the questions 5 until 8. Carefully consider the best way of posing the questions in order to gain the best possible insight into the everyday views of your partner class.

a) Planting trees is a possibility to cool down the earth because of the carbon dioxid they use for photosynthesis. Trees also trap heat from the sunlight. However,

b) There are several people who fight against climate change, the average Swiss tries to reduce his own carbon dioxid consumption by doing little things like going by bicycle instead of driving a car.

India is still a developing country, that's why they have a lower emission of CO2 per person. We have different expectations from what you would call a climate hero. We may imagine that a person who stands up for clean water acces could be one. Furthermore, if someone owns enough money and invests in new technologies to reduce pollution and CO2, he can cause fairly long-term climate improvement. All in all everyone deserves to be called a climate hero, who handles our ressources carefully and with consideration.

If there is to be a change in our world's environment policy, there is no doubt that any individual, regardless of his or hers social situation, should in one way or the other contribute to the salvation of our planet. Everyone is responsible for him- or herself and must not think that his or hers impact is neglectable, for as long as this is the predominant way of thinking among the population, no change can be made. In this case we would say that the most important object is not to get intimidated by the power of the big companies and the influence they have on the governments. We have to introduce these new ideas to the wider public and make them think about the consequences of our actions. Furthermore, the use of public transport is a very efficent way of reducing CO2 emissions, which is a more practical way of helping to protect the nature.

No one feels responsible for our environment. A lot of people only think about their own well-being. We have to change our needs and our expectations of our lifestyle. We need to rethink our relation to money and it has to be in a better proportion to our nature.

We cannot estimate the impact on the environment in the future. Since we are egoistic we are not ready to even think about the changes.
