a) In the amazon rainforest; 100 years ago- trees were starting to be used to extract rubber, which increased dramatically the rate by which they were cut down. Since 1900 in " Cerro De Pasco " minning companies did not only use in excess the resources they had but the pollution produced was not dealt with- there were no laws protecting the inhabitants.

If we could turn back the clock, we would´ve began to create laws protecting trees and what is the maximum rate at which they can be cut down, and for each tree cut down, 2 must be planted- which means that in a long term effect we will have as twice as trees that what we initially had, still satisfying our needs for wood and others resources. Also we would control the amount of pollution released by mines and find more enviromental friendly ways to extract raw materials not only to proetect the sourroundins but to help the inhabitants of the area live a healthier life, without worrying about beign intoxicated by heavy metals like lead ( Pb ).

b) We can learn from the past how our society had dealt with eviromental issues from the start and what was done to control the problems. Yet back then they had less technology which meant less relative pollutance that what we have today, so less laws controlling , eg: C02 emissions were needed. As for today since we have more technology, we pollute more and create more by-products which means that the government will create laws that protect the eviroment paralel to the amount of harm we do to the same.

Now it’s your turn to compile the questions 12 until 16. Carefully consider the best way of posing questions in order to gain the best possible insight into the everyday views and lifestyle of society around you, and what is changing.
