The most awaited summit on climate change ended just few weeks ago with the results which are equally awaited!Some questions that you can try to answer.... #How many vehicles were engaged for the transport of people and materials all through the summit? #How many disposables were used to pack/unpack the food items/water/personal care materials for all those 'fortunate' souls who attended? #How much amount of electricity was used through out the summit for lights/fans/ACs/Heaters/microphones etc..etc? #How much waste was generated..How far was it seggregated...How did it get recycled??? These are just a few...but the final and most important question is...CARBON FOOTPRINT???? That too produced on the occasion of summit on CLIMATE CHANGE???? And what about the end result.....VIEWS AND COUNTER VIEWS. Anything else???

Currently the oil... In our adopted village people get the opportunity to cultivate Jatropha. Currently the oil from Jatropha seeds is used for making biodiesel fuel. Decreasing oil production from almost all the oil reseves is attracting the world's eyes towards renewable energy sources. The availability of oil, the key fossil fuel of the last one hundred years, is peaking, ant that production and availability is declining. However, demand on for oil continues to grow. Rising energy consumption and environmental issues has now shifted the focus towards biofuel use, particularly in transportation.Jatropha is being promoted as an easily grown biofuel crop in hundreds of projects throughout India and other countries. The railway line between Mumbai and Delhi is planted with Jatropha and the train itself runs on 15 - 20% biodiesel. Rushing to turn food crops (maize, wheat, sugar, palm oil) into fuel for cars, without first examining the impact on global hunger, would be a recipe for disaster. Jatropha is able to grow on barren land - That is why Jatropha was recently recommended as a biofuels crop for developing countries by UN Special Rapporteur on the right to food.Are you in interested in more details what we do with our adopted village and what it has to do with climate change?

Our school also being a trust we have adopted a village nearby 70kms away
from our city, As it is there are a number of programmes going on like
Agro Forestry, Rural Education, Supply of seeds and conducts workshops
for farmers, rain harvesting programmes, conservation of forests and
growing Jatropha trees(extract bio diesel)on barren lands etc. Jatropha is a very special plant!!!!!!!!!!! On this picture you see the flowers of Jatropha.

TERM 2- "Composting in school campus"

 

     Manure is prepared from segregated leftover

 

     foods,vegetables or  fruit peels for plants.

 

TERM 3- "Campaign for save fuel"

 

     We create posters and slogans made by parents

 

     and students.

 

    MONTH-WISE

 

DAY 1 OF EVERY MONTH:

 

     "No paper or one side paper day"

 

     Parents,teachers and students should avoid

 

     using papers on this day.

 

DAY 15 OF EVERY MONTH:

 

              "Save fuel day"

 

     All the teachers,students and the staff

 

     members need to come by walk or bicycle

 

     or use public transport or carpooling.

 

LAST DAY OF EVERY MONTH:

 

             "Donate old-clothes day"

 

     Collecting old clothes and donating them

 

     to the needy.

We are from Hyderabad, the city of pearls and the city of Nizams,located at southern part of Indian peninsula.It is best known as the meeting place of South India with the North because it can just accomodate people of any region,religion,culture or race!! Our city is previlaged with four hundred year old history and civillization. And it still holds its traditional and cultural values proudly although it has evolved into one of the most happening IT and Biotechnological hubs in India. We love our city not only because its rich cultural heritage but also because of the suitable moderate climatic conditions and most importantly for the people over here who are very friendly, approachable and helpful. It has patches of both greenery as well as very huge archean igneous rocks ... a rare combination to have!!! Well, so also is our mother earth and therefore we take this opportunity to say that it is not only our city that we love but our dear most mother earth as well.So friends let us join hands ... through my climate..... for the well being of our planet..... and say .....               "TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE"
