I'm a black kenyan boy of an average height inf Form Two in Menengai High School. I was born in August 20th 1991. The care for our environment had dawned to me when I was in Standard Eight. I felt challenged one day from the news on television. The environmental status of of North Eastern Part of Kenya was quite wanting. This aroused my concern greatly. I pitied the habitants of this part of our country. But what could a young boy like I do? The grass within our school compound had been eaten completely by the fierce scorching sun. Due to this I promised to show some concern about Caring for the School environment. I was highly motivated by my class teacher who supported me and my fellow puipils who soon joined me to combatthe environmental destruction. She adviced me on the right type of grass to plant and even arranged with the school staff to allow us to get water from the school water supply taps. This helped us combat the erosion which was increasing day by day. It was during these ups an ddowns that I discovered my potential and determination in me on whatever I could do best. I subjected myself to several challenges like writing essays on topics related to environmental conservation which called for deep reasoning capacity. I managed to scoop the title of "Overal best boy" in the whole Nakuru Municipal Council Schools. This was a competition held by the Kenya nAtional Library Service in Collaboration with the USAID. This is where I received several trophées for my school St. Josephs Catholic Primary School. The title for the essay was about "sexual abstinence". I personally say Yes in one voice with my fellows to join hands ready to change the nature of our country and the entire world. Conserve the environment, save lives.
