Asked by: Sri Aurobindo International | Fachmittelschule Glarus

a) Imagine it would be possible to turn back the clock a hundred years. What do you think we would do differently?

b) We are naturally not able to turn the clock back, but we can learn from the past. What kind of information does the past reveal?

a) We would invent cars, planes etc. which are more eco-friendly. We also would control the traffic more, and travel more by train.

Instead of producing a lot of CO 2 with factories, we would invest more in eco-friendly things.

b) It reveals that we have to be more careful with the environment and not take everything as selv-evident. We treated the world like we wanted, and now we recieve the quittance.

Eco-friendly technologies are crucial for less CO2 emission indeed. I would add education - people need to be informed in order to know how they can contribute personally to a reduced climate change.
