09. Looking back and thinking ahead

a) Imagine it would be possible to turn back the clock a hundred years. What do you think we would do differently?

b) We are naturally not able to turn the clock back, but we can learn from the past. What kind of information does the past reveal?

Hundred years, that means 1909... Karl Benz, the German mechanical engineer designed and built the world's first practical automobile in 1885, MAybe he and later Henry Ford, who improved the assembly line for automobile manufacturing and invented a car transmission mechanism, would already have thought of using as little fuel as possible.

b) That we shouldn't be shortsighted and allways bare in mind what the consequenses of our actions and decisions will be.

10. In order to get to know you a little better, a few questions now follow that at first glance have nothing to do with the topic of climate change.

a) If you were able to freely choose, which kind of life you woul like to lead – what would this involve?

b) Do you have the feeling you are free to choose what the real prospects of your future life will be?

c) If you answer no, what do you think is lacking and therefore negatively influencing your personal decisions for the future?

a) We can't imagine a world without nature, so that means that in our life there should be some mountains,glacier, river, brook, lake grass, bushes, birds, various animal species etc.

b) Personally, I think we are not 100% free to choose what ever we want to become. There are a lot of influences for example our parents. We make them extremely proud, if we manage to become a famous actor, a doctor, a lawyer or something like that. On the other side, they give us hint to do that way instead of the other. If you have got some as an idol, you tend to do what he did. Although we have all these influences, we are the one who decide, no matter if this is not the way our parents or teacher or somebody liked

c) It really depends on the persons you are related to. If they are good, that means if they know for example that if we keep damaging our environment by driving often by car (C02 emissions), if they are not interested in saving the jungle and all that kind of stuff, then the danger exists, to act like them.

11. Things you enjoy doing

a) What kind of things do you really enjoy doing?

b) How often can you do the things you really enjoy? (And, why are you not able to do them all the time?)

staying with friends, talking, laughing

Do you have any tornadoes there?

No but sometimes we have heavy storms and days of teoorential rain. This year near Lucerne where we live roads were closed and cellars flooded in canton Lucern by a such a heavy storm. A pork house was hit by lightning on a Lucern farm, but the 200 pigs were saved.
