The answers we gave

01. Interview
Our Answer: Answers to people’s opinions Ivana und Tanja: 1) The climate becomes more and more warm, and the different between the seasons is more differently than before. I think that the climate change makes that for example in summer you have more rainy days then before and sometimes it can change suddenly in very hot days. 2) It hasn’t so big consequences for our country but if the glaciers smelting the surface of water raise. Then we have more heat waves, more floodwaters and more storms. I think it’s correct! The glaciers smelting can be terrible for people who live near the lake, because the surface of the water is growing up. Patrick und Tobias: “We will never know with absolute certainty if there is such a thing as climate change. But it is very likely that the numerous cases of extreme weather events are a sign of global climate change. And it is very likely that these events are caused by man through the excessive burning of oil, gas and coal.” Some people blame it on “natural” climate variability, which has been there ever since, but scientists are claiming, that the measurable warming nowadays is happening much faster than the previous “natural” changes. The majority of people surprisingly seem able to suppress the whole matter in daily life, although it gets a lot of attention in the media. The opinion of two smart, nice guys We think we have to take care of our ONE world. Off roaders, airplanes, farting cows etc. should be banned! The CO2 emission must be lowered; otherwise we will choke in our own emissions. We hope mankind will change its habits in a few years, otherwise the world will vanish and all the nice and smart guys will vanish as well. Severin: An opinion of someone else: “I don’t understand that the human being always wants more, more profit, more power, it must be always more than we have. But the question is if this planet is big enough to feed all of us. At one time the world will say goodbye to us and than we have a big problem. The only question that is important is what we can do to save the world. If every scientist und politician works together we must be able to save the world. Head up and hope than die hope dies at least.” My opinion: “I think we should start as soon as possible to do everything to save the world. Because if we carry on as we’ve done it the last fifty years, the world won’t be there any more in a couple of years. Maybe in twenty years, maybe in fifty years or even later, but it will come if we don’t start to save the world. If everyone would do a little contribution to the world by saving electricity or warm water it would probably be enough.” Claudio und Leandro: The person I asked thinks that the climate change is a bad thing. He also thinks that we should spent more money in renewable energy like solar energy, wind energy or geothermal energy. A possibility would be for him, that we reduce the distance between begetter and consumes. I think this person got realizable approaches. But the government has to realize this measures, the single citizen cannot do much to realize this stuff. The person I asked thinks that the climate change isn’t that bad, as they all pretend. He thinks that the humanity steps in all the time. He tries to prove it with an logical explanation. I think this person won’t believe the truth. He’s not directly affected with the climate change. So I think you can’t make a good verdict if you aren’t directly affected by the problem. Natasa und Franziska: 1. Bartin M. dindn’t think much about the climate change. But he doesn’t have a car and go to work by foot. He looks a little bit for the world but it isn’t the most important thing in his life. We think the climate change is an important thing for everybody in world. But we think also that people looks quite good in Switzerland. 2. He thinks in Switzerland not much will change because of the climate change. We haven’t the same opinion. In Switzerland the glaciers are melting. And this is a consequence for the whole world.
02. Search the local newspapers of your country for articles about climate change.
Our Answer: Newspaper articel headline: Have animals an influence in climate change? a) In the articel which I had chosen, the question is, if animals have a big influence in climate change. Because they blurt methane and CO2 out. They want to give an answer to the question how bad this discharge is. b) They proposed that the problem with methane is not so bad as the problem with CO2 . Anmials also blurth this gas out, but the discharge of the animals is not so worse as by the littering or distribution of domestic gas. Methane is in real a worse gas than, but the CO2 ejection is bigger than the one of methane. c) As a solution the articel tell us, that we shoudn't hydrate the animals from methane. Eat less meat would be the better solution as to hydrate the animals. d) The headline, if it has really an influence to the climate when animals blurt methan and CO2 out. Because I always want to know this. e) "A list of all things you can do in your daily grind to lessen the climate change."
03. The topic of climate change arouses a number of strong emotions in people.
